For me, the 'landscape' represents transience, the passing of time and the changing seasons.
Karin Boers was educated at the academy of visual arts in Enschede and is active as a landscape painter. She usually works en plein air. “Looking at the clouds, the trees, the light. The passing of the seasons, balding branches, orange autumn, budding trees; there is so much to experience in the landscape. I feel that time stands still for a moment when I paint, while at the same time everything changes very quickly because of the light. It is exciting to do and sometimes also very uncomfortable and difficult because of the sun, wind and unexpected rain. I like to work on a series of paintings with the same theme.'
